The 40th meeting of the joint Committee on sharing of the Ganga/ Ganges waters at Farakka was held at Kolkata on 12th October,2008.

The Joint Committee held in-depth discussions with regard to the implementation of the arrangments contained in the Treaty of December,1996 for sharing the Ganga/Ganges waters at Farakka between Bangladesh and India for the dry season of 2008. After detailed discussions, the Joint Committee finalized its Annual Report of the year 2008 for submission to the respective Governments.
